Swag Bucks: Earn Rewards for Searching Online

Search & Win

I am in love with SwagBucks.  I’ve considered writing poetry to it, I love it so much.

Swag Bucks is an online search engine that rewards you for searching online. Seriously…that’s all you have to do. It only takes a minute to sign up and you’ll receive 30 Swag Bucks immediately.  Once you download the toolbar, you’ll start earning points just by searching the web. After only 450 points earned, you can redeem your points for a free Amazon gift card. Or you can wait a little longer and choose from dozens of other prizes.

You will most likely earn 10-30 Swagbucks per day for on-line searching, and they will randomly be rewarded to you. So you could easily earn your first gift card ($5 for Amazon.com) within the first month or two.

BUT the real earnings come when you get others to join you in your Swag Bucks love. Then you can just sit back and let others do the work for you!

There are a few ways to get others to join you.

  1. ASK them. After signing up here, click on the ‘Promote’ button at the top of the page and send everyone you know an e-mail. (Hey–who doesn’t do online searches?) You can also e-mail them from your personal account, but make sure to use the referral link that they give you on the ‘Promote’ page or you won’t get credit.
  2. If you have a blog, ya just gotta blog about it! Again, after signing up, click on the ‘Promote’ button and then ‘Promote banners’. Use the referral link and banners in your blog post to make sure you get credit. Then sit back and watch the savings come in!
  3. This may go without saying, but be sure to download the toolbar once you join.  Then start using it for all of your on-line searching, and you’ll be on your way to Swag Bucks Heaven!

Hey…what are you waiting for?  Sign up now!

Estimated daily time investment: Less than a minute
Estimated Swag Bucks earned in  a year with no referrals: 5000 = $55 in Amazon gift cards
Referrals incentive: Get up to 1000 matching Swag Bucks per referral!

    CJ,

You can invite people to sign up under your account by clicking ‘promote’ at the top of the swagbucks site. You can then send people e-mails or use banners to refer people using your account. This week, any new members can use code: SHOESTRING to get an additional 3 swagbucks added to their account.

    Does that answer your question?

Hi there – is it not 450 points for an Amazon card, not 45? I am just getting used to SB – thanx!

You are right, Wendy! When I first posted this, Swag Bucks had a different system and I forgot to make the change in this post.

    Thanks for catching it!

I think of Swagbucks as my Christmas fund too! I am always wary of “free” money activities on the web, but Swagbucks is SO easy, I don’t even have any referrals I just do normal searching, and I have gotten 4 Amazon GC for $5 in just a few months. I think this is the best prize they have b/c you can get almost anything at Amazon, including used items. I love it!

I have had problems with downloading Toolbars in the past and getting a virus from it. You haven’t had this problem with this toolbar?

No, Kim, I haven’t had this problem. I don’t blame you for being wary if this has happened to you in the past. However, I have not heard of anyone getting a virus from this toolbar. Both my husband and I have downloaded it without a problem.

Kim, I was just doing a search for this and stumbled upon this page. YES! I have gotten a virus 4 times now from downloading it. The first two times, it didn’t even dawn on me that that was what was causing it. It was a very malicious virus, where my whole computer started messing up, I couldn’t even do a system restore from the start menu, because everytime I would click on ANYTHING, it would stop my actions and shut out the page. I have had this computer for 3 years, and never, not one problem until a few weeks ago, about two days after I downloaded the toolbar, and bam, got that horrid virus. So I had to shut down my computer manually, and then start it back up pressing F11 to do a manual override for system restore back to factory settings. This really upset me, because I’ve had pics of my kids saved on this pc for 3 years, including the pictures of my youngest son’s birth, etc. Thank God some of them are on my myspace, so I can retrieve them. Anyway, after I started all over again from scratch, the computer was working great. 2 or 3 days later, I went to re-install the toolbar, that night, same virus came back. Still didn’t put two and two together. Same thing, system restore. Again, the computer is working great, a few days later, I re-install the tool bar. Same night, got hit again. Then I started wondering, IS IT the toolbar? So again, I restore, blah blah blah. I was leary the fourth time about re-installing it, so I thought I would hold out a few days, see what happens before I did it. I waited a WEEK. Computer ran great, no problems. So I thought, okay, one more time, if I get a virus after this, I KNOW it’s the toolbar. So I again, re-install the program, same night, bam. Got hit again. THAT’S IT! I was ticked. How something that’s suppose to be helpful is actually harmful! I once again did a system restore, but believe you me, I will NEVER re-install that thing again! I still use swagbucks religiously, but now I just manually type in the url, and use it that way. And the last system restore I did was a week and a half ago, and since I did the last one, and did NOT re-install the toolbar, my computer has been working great, not one problem! =)

In regards to the toolbar and viruses, I use AVG and it just detected a virus, and the toolbar won’t work now. So I’m pretty sure it is the swagbucks toolbar.

    Hi Kaley!

Are things like Swagstakes worth it? I’ve been wary of trying them out.

Thanks! I just started with Swagbucks a couple of weeks ago, and I’m ready to cash in for my first Amazon gift card :) YAY ME! and THANK YOU!!

Hi, Cathy! I’ve actually never tried a Swagstakes. I think there are so many Swag Bucks users that chances are pretty slim that I’d actually win something. I’d rather play it safe and save my Swag Bucks for something I know I can earn.

That’s just me though–I’m sure some people would disagree!

    Hello again Kaley,

I was searching around, and was unable to find this info. How long does it take before the Amazon gift card shows up, and do they actually mail it to you?

    Thank you!

Hi, Cathy! Here’s the info from Swag Bucks:

“GIFT CODES ARE POSTED ON YOUR ACCOUNT PROFILE, UNDER “My Gift Cards” WITHIN 10-14 BUSINESS DAYS OF YOUR PURCHASE.”

    Hope that helps!

  10. SwagBucks Mom

Just earned my first Paypal payment with SwagBucks. Paypal takes more swagbucks to get than a comparable Amazon giftcard, but I’d rather have the cash so I can use it anywhere.
