I shared my savings at CVS, Aldi, Redner’s and Landis earlier this week.

Savings from ‘Free Money’: $30

• I received a $15 check from a Class Action lawsuit against Rice Krispies this week.  (I totally had forgotten about it!  Fun surprise.)

• I’ve gotten 6 free Valentine’s cards for different people over the past couple of weeks from various offers.

Savings from cutting costs: $6

• We eat pizza almost every week.  I’ve decided to get back into the habit of making homemade pizza rather than buying pizza from a restaurant.  (Besides, homemade pizza is soo much yummier!)

I shared my savings at CVS, Redner’s, Giant and Landis earlier this week.  I also made another quick trip to Giant to use my last free milk coupon and grab a couple more things.

Savings from ‘Free Money’: $19.04

• I scored a free Redbox rental last night using code BREAKROOM.

• I saved $0.75 with my gas rewards card (every penny counts!)

• Heading out today to use my coupon for a FREE Corner Combo at the Corner Bakery Cafe.  (Plus I have a coupon for a free cookie for signing up for their rewards club too!)

• Also heading out to use my Old Navy Groupon before it expires today! (no longer available)

TOTAL SAVINGS:$78.19

I shared my shopping trips to Aldi, Target and Redner’s earlier this week.  I also made a quick trip to Landis and CVS.  You can see my CVS purchases above: Spent $1.57 at CVS and $15.30 at Landis.  (Highlights at Landis included Butterball Turkey Bacon for $0.39 and Mentos gum for $0.49.  The rest was just essentials.)

• I received my $20 MasterCard gift card for taking advantage of the MasterCard promotion at Christmastime.  (No longer available.)

• I took advantage of a Groupon for Picaboo about a year ago and finally used it to order my Christmas cards and a photo book for my son this week. (And yes…I did a little happy dance when I crossed Christmas cards off my list!)

Savings from cutting costs: $180

In many ways, my husband is a better deal finder than me.  He proved that yet again this past week when he found two sweet deals on Craigslist.  One was for a bunk bed for our boys for $100.  (Regularly priced around $300.)  The other was a train table for my son for $20.  It’s in great condition and about $80 less than buying one new!

TOTAL SAVINGS:$268.54

TOTAL SAVINGS THIS YEAR: $3999.86

I stocked up on groceries last week, so didn’t need to make a run to the store until last night.  We just needed some essentials, so I made a quick list and only took ONE coupon with me!  That’s just the way things roll some weeks around here.

Savings from ‘Free Money’: $20.00

• I recently got an alert from Shop It To Me that 10 of my friends had signed up for their site and I could claim my $10 gift card.  When I signed into my account, I discovered that there was another gift card from many months ago that somehow I had neglected to claim!  So this week, I received not one but TWO Starbucks gift cards in the mail.

“A friend introduced me to couponing (isn’t that what really really old ladies do???). I was skeptical, but after 1 month of couponing, I was hooked (and my husband loved the savings too). When we had our first daughter, I stopped teaching and became a full-time stay-at-home mom. Moving from 2 incomes to 1 was an adventure, but we made it work. I found ways to make our money last – using coupons, shopping sales, frequenting consignment stores, and learning how to recycle something and turn it into something else. Now, I pinch pennies and stretch our bucks, not only out of necessity, but pure fun.”
